Dare to Dream

I do not spend much time in movie theaters but when I hear that a movie is good, I run to Netflix and add it to the queue. This happened with two of the winners in last night's Oscar awards - La Vie en Rose and Once.

My husband and I enjoyed both movies very much, and we also enjoyed the acceptance speeches!

"Thank you life. Thank you love." - Marion Cotillard, Best Actress, La Vie en Rose

The fact that Falling Slowly won Best Song is "...proof that no matter how far out your dreams are it is possible and fair play to those who dare to dream and don't give up and this song is written from a perspective of hope and hope at the end of the day connects us all." - Marketa Irglova, Best Song, Falling Slowly, from the movie ONCE.

Inspiring!

Imagine

Imagine there's no Heaven
It's easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us only sky
Imagine all the people
Living for today

Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace

You may say that I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will be as one

Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world

You may say that I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will live as one

Yoga : Music : Bliss

I have a tendency to get stuck in my ways but sometimes I think I just forget things.

I forgot how wonderful it is to add music to a yoga practice. I did for years and then stopped (for many years) and then remembered again last night. It was supta baddha konasana, late evening, dark room, eye bag and the soft, relaxing music. Bliss.

Or was I just stuck in my way of silence and yoga practice?

In The Past Year

YogaLaura tagged me! Thanks Laura for the great questions. I can't wait for my birthday so I'm going to answer them now.

In the Past year:

What was your most embarrassing moment?
I’m sure I had them but I honestly cannot remember one!

What are you proudest of achieving?
Waking up every day excited to experience whatever the day holds for me.

What would you do differently with the benefit of hindsight?
I would have woke up that way everyday of my life.

What did you love about last year?
It was a joy filled year.

In the Next year:

What do you want to say you accomplished next year on this day?
I’m sure it will be something good – I can’t wait for the surprise!

What are you looking most forward to in the next year?
Flowers and all of the seasons – the beauty all around.

What goal of yours are you most tantalized by?
Creating a life with lots of space, animals and sharing that with my husband everyday and night.

If you knew you only had the next year to live, what would you make sure to do? What is stopping you?
This is a hard question - I think I'm doing it now!

What happened...

I went here...

It was not a regular Las Vegas week. I was working with my husband - really. I ate well, did my daily yoga practice (thank you WoYoPracMo), went to sleep early each night and then got the flu. Wow! Seventeen days later, I finally feel almost normal again. It's great to be back.

What did I do? Slept. Then when I couldn't sleep anymore, I broke out the knitting...

Then when my brain started to work again, I read a great book - The Power of Now.

What did I miss?
